The Skedulo package configures the necessary data structures on your CRM (such as Salesforce or ServiceNow) to function with the Skedulo platform. Within these packages, there are three levels of permissions that limit what a user can do with Skedulo: administrator, scheduler, and resource.
A Skedulo administrator has the highest set of permissions and can perform all operations as well as view and edit all data.
Exclusive administrator operations include (but are not limited to):
- Saving custom fields.
- Saving organization preferences.
- Modifying notification templates.
A scheduler is one step below an administrator and can perform all operations (except exclusive administrator operations) as well as view/edit and add data.
A resource is the lowest of the permission sets and comes with some restrictions. The most notable restrictions are:
- They can only view their own resource tracking data.
- They cannot send notifications.
Note: The admin setting "Restrict resources from logging into the web app," when enabled, checks this flag in order to restrict resource access. So, it is not advisable to leave "skeduloUserType" undefined.
Change User Type
Important! To change existing users or add new users, we recommend that your admin runs the onboarding wizard again. Doing so avoids missing vital steps during configuration.
However, if you have specific requirements (such as community users, or a custom security model involving baseline permissions) then your admin may configure them manually. Skedulo's support team can guide you in such cases.
