A swimlane provides a scheduler with a visual overview of scheduled work; a real-time view of their available resources, and a summary of allocated time–for a defined period.
Note: The following information is supplemental to the article entitled "Horizontal Swimlanes."
The "Temporary Assignments" (or "Temporary Regions") feature is currently only available on Skedulo's Independent Platform. Contact your Skedulo Customer Success Manager if you require more details on how to activate this feature.
Temporary Assignments on the Horizontal Swimlanes
To allow flexibility, resources can be temporarily assigned to other regions (outside of the home region) for a set period. They are distinguished from the other resources by a small aircraft icon, added to their profile image, in the swimlanes. The swimlanes reflect the resource's availability (or unavailability) while they are on temporary assignment.
In the example below, Lisa (from Sydney) is available for work in the Brisbane region from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm. Outside of these times, she is shown to be "Out Of Region." To view the details of the temporary assignment, click on the "Out Of Region" label.
Note: Currently, unavailability is overlaid on the swimlanes and does not take into account time zone shifts. For example, below Sydney is one hour ahead of Brisbane. While filtering to show Sydney region, Lisa appears to be available for one hour prior to travel. This is not the case, she is showing as available because she will start work at 08:00 Brisbane time—which is 09:00 Sydney time.
